Mary Avery is happy that guest Meg Wuske stayed in Ripon after graduating from Ripon College. She is missed at the CEC where she used to work.

John Olsen is happy/sad that his wife and daughter have left him for the week and headed to Arizona and Colorado to visit daughter/sister Rachel.

Matt Lueptow is happy to give to the John Olsen dinner fund in Laura's absense.

Don Amsden is happy to be at today’s meeting. Happy 93rd Birthday Don!

Lisa Hale is happy to be in the dating scene after many years! Congratulations!

Brian Stigen is happy to have been invited to attend this great club's meeting.

Queen of Spades 50/50 Raffle

Herm draws a dud – the Queen of Diamonds!

Herm Lietz and Kristy Sadlon split their tickets. They each had their own end and the middle was shared. The middle ticket number ended up being drawn by Brian Stigen. $271.00 was in the pot and Herm chose the King of Diamonds from the deck. There are now 27 cards left and the Queen is still hiding.

Today’s Program: New member orientation and committee meetings

New Member Orientation went smoothly with the help of a new powerpoint presentation which was downloaded from the KI web site and customized for our club, division and district. Meg, Brian, Lisa, Jenny, John, Mary, Mellisa, Henrik and Jolene all participated (some of them fell into the "better late than never" category)! The next step is to guide our newest members in their quest to find the committee(s) they'd be most passionate to serve on.

Kristy, Sue and Mary are hard at work!

Helga, Paul and Herm plan our future.

Committee Meetings: Some committees met today to discuss the future goals and visions they have for the rest of our Kiwanis year. Some topics discussed were the upcoming Variety Show, and the start of the Builders Club.

Upcoming Programs and Events

March 30 – Ray Loth from Collier Legacy Planning will lead an educational workshop on financial planning.

April 6 – Paul Nulton will talk about a task force focusing on underage drinking which has been organized in Ripon.

April 13 – Fond du Lac County Executive Al Buechel may tell us about the new half a percent sales tax in Fond du Lac County (the topic is up to him)!

April 20 – Biscuit, the miniature dachshund therapy dog, will sit patiently while her owner, Pat Grahn, tells us how Biscuit fosters a love of reading in elementary students at the Ripon elementary schools. My son, Noah, just loves it when Biscuit visits twice a week. You won't want to miss this program!

April 27 – Brian Wells will tell us about his mission trip to Haiti, which took place in the weeks following the traumatic earthquake in Port au Prince.

Editor's Note: Kristy and I will both be giving happy bucks upon Norm's return, when he can resume his fine work on the Noon News each week.
