Happy Bucks
Kristy Sadlon is happy that her son Lyshon, came back safely from Camp Wawbeek on her birthday with good reports. A great birthday present for her!
Herm Leitz is happy to be leaving for the Milwaukee Brewers game after the meeting.
John Roesch is happy that he, his two daughters and their two daughters sang on stage last weekend at the Green Lake Festival of Music.
Tonya Alling is happy that she won $420 in the Queens 50/50 raffle last week. She gave $50 to the pot and spent the rest “dorm room shopping” with her daughter, Megan.
Mary Avery is happy that over the summer she has visited North Carolina twice, Montana once, and she just saw her first grandchild last week celebrating his first birthday.
Queen of Spades 50/50 Raffle

Because Tonya Alling pulled the Queen of Spades last week, the pot is at $58.50 and all 52 cards were back in the deck. This week, Bill Neill’s number was called and he pulled an 8 of Hearts… better luck next time Bill!
Today’s Program: Reach A Child

Tonya Alling and off-duty Ripon Police Investigator Lindsey Michels accept backpacks from REACH A Child founder Paul Gilbertson. Lindsey will work with chief Dave Lukoski to see if the backpacks can be integrated into the Ripon PD protocol when responding to crises which involve children.
In May of 2007, Paul Gilbertson and his wife, Chris, traveled to New York City for a National Author and Publishers Convention with the thought of publishing a children’s book. While in New York, they visited “Ground Zero”, the site of 9/11. The overall tragedy of this site and the sadness of such a crisis in America sparked an idea for them. That idea was to establish a non-profit organization called “With Wings and a Halo – R.E.A.C.H. a Child”, which would focus on helping a child cope with a traumatic event by giving them books to read.
R.E.A.C.H. a Child aims to put smiles on the faces of silent victims (children) in Crisis across America through the power of a book. The books provide an educational escape in a time of crisis and helps reduce the negative emotional impact that can accompany stressful events such as an accident, fire, domestic disturbances or other traumatic situations.
The mission is “To put a smile on the face of a child in the time of need” and plans to launch this program nationally. With the endorsements received from law enforcement agencies, this program is described as the fastest-growing “Crime Prevention” program in the United States, because of the positive officer-to-youth interactions and the lasting impact of those interactions. Currently these backpacks are in over 15,000 squad cars and ambulances in over six states and in over 300 communities in Wisconsin. Since its inception in 2007, over 250,000 books have been donated to children in the time of need!
