Announcements

Alyse Zabel "Life Celebration Party" – September 6 – Pillsbury Hall, Green Lake Conference Center
Paul Nulton mentioned what a wonderful life Alyse Zabel led, during the course of her four-year battle with Leukemia. This 15-year-old touched many lives. The way she modeled Christian beliefs was inspirational for many who knew her or know of her. We're glad she is in a better, pain-free place now . . .

Board Meeting – September 8 – Mihaly Room – Pickard Commons
Officers and board members are requested to attend the monthly board meetings.

Brat Fry – September 10 – Pick n Save
Danelle Phillips is chairing the September 10 Brat Fry, which will be themed a "Wisconsin Sports Tailgate Party". Wear your favorite Wisconsin team apparel and email Danelle Phillips if you are able to work for a two-hour shift between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Click on her name to send her an email.

2011-12 Budget Meeting – September 20 – Ripon School District Office – 4 p.m.
If you are interested in helping plan our Ripon Noon Kiwanis 2011-12 Club Budget, please be at the school administration building on Tuesday, September 20 at 4 p.m.

Installation Banquet – September 27 – Alibi's Restaurant
Danelle Phillips is coordinating the September 27 Installation Banquet, which will also be an unofficial goodbye party for Paul Nulton. The cost of $11 per person includes the meal and a bit extra to pay for the new officer and club advisor pins and a gift for our outgoing president. Email Danelle Phillips if you and your significant other plans to attend.

Ripon Noon Kiwanis Happy Bucks

Bill Neill was happy to have had a "magnificent sail on Green Lake" over the weekend.

Danelle Phillips was happy to have Shelly Haberman, her new boss and Senior Associate for Marketing at Agnesian as her meeting guest and she was happy to have enjoyed a wonderful time in Chicago with her family, including an all-too-brief tour of the Museum of Science and Industry and showing off their Packer and Brewer apparel in Chicago, which her son Lawson didn't understand why Chicagoans were less appreciative of their clothing choice than Wisconsinites!

Rich Scamehorn was happy to have had two different sets of grandchildren visiting over the past few weeks, and he was also happy that although four trees were down and blocking the road at his cottate between Poy Sippi and Wild Rose, and although the power was out which forced their early return to Ripon, they suffered no property damage as a result of the storm.

John Roesch was happy that his first ever garage sale is now a bad memory. In his words "we will NEVER do something like that again".

John Olson was happy that three of his four children are flying in on Thursday for his youngest daughter's wedding on Saturday. Best wishes to Rachel and her groom!

Barb Evensen was happy that Ripon made the top ten for coolest small towns in Budget Travel magazine.

Helga Rikkers was happy to have spent time with her grandchildren recently and told a hysterical story involving her smallest grandson and underwear which was still in the overnight bag rather than on the child. . . ask Helga for details!

Queen of Spades 50/50 Raffle

Rich Scamehorn was welcomed to the loser's bracket when he drew the Queen of Diamonds, missing out on $193.50. Next week's pot starts at $193.50 with 29 cards left in the deck.

Today’s Program:
Steve Little – Executive Vice President at Agnesian Health Care

Steve Little was joined by administrative assistant Julie Bartz, who recorded answers to input sought by Agnesian on what the Ripon Medical Center / Agnesian partnership will look like.

Mr. Little made a commitment that ground will be broken on a new medical center building in 2012 and that the funding is available without any capital campaign.

The three location options Agnesian is looking at, which all comply with a commitment made with the City of Ripon to build within the city limits include the industrial park on 44/49, Highway 23 east, near the existing Agnesian clinic, or in Sandmar, across from the School Disrict Administration Building off Metomen Street. The Highway 23 log would need to be annexed into the city limits to comply with Agnesian's promise to the city.

Mr. Little asked what services we would like to see provided in the facility and answered questions from club members.

He indicated that "we will be birthing babies at Ripon Medical Center — sooner, rather than later." He also promised that Agnesian will never partner with Aurora, in response to a question from John Olson.

For more information on this Kiwanis program, please read the September 7 issue of the Ripon Commonwealth Press. Editor and Nooner Ian Stepleton was at the meeting taking better notes than this stand-in editor!

We appreciate the opportunity to offer input into the future of Ripon Medical Center and Agnesian Health Care.
